1. Make a family emergency communication plan and include pets.
2. Have emergency supplies in place at home, at work, and in the car.
3. Check on your neighbors and the elderly to make sure they’re okay.
4. Know what to do before, during, and after a flood.
5. Listen to local officials by radio, TV or social media.
6. Evacuate when advised by authorities or if you are in a flood or flash flood prone area.
7. If you are on high ground above flooded areas, being prepared to stay where you are may be the best protection.
8. Never drive or walk through flooded roadways. TURN AROUND! DON’T DROWN!
